We are seeking a Price Manager for our Polyethylene (PE) business to develop and execute pricing policies that capture maximum value for all of our products, with all of our customers, in all of our sales channels. The successful candidate will:
Recommend analytically driven pricing strategies and tactics to maximize long term revenue for NOVA Chemicals’ products and assets.
Analyse customer and industry intelligence to help NOVA Chemicals’ leadership anticipate future dynamics and assist market teams in improving profitability.
Help build and implement a world class pricing capability for NOVA Chemicals.
More specifically, the candidate will:
Make analytically supported pricing decisions based upon account team price recommendations and use of various price tools and other pertinent data in accordance with PE Authorization levels.
Ensure systems and tools are in place to quickly and accurate set pricing for new business (new customers, new products, and new geographies) and respond to competitive commercial offerings on existing business.
Approves certain revenue-related commercial adjustments on an as-needed basis, in accordance with PE Authority levels
Develop and maintain (with Senior Vice President and CFO approval) governance process and control for price approvals. This includes the process for tracking customer specific price adjustments, granting commercial terms to customers, customer rebate pay-outs, and other revenue adjustments)
Collaborates as a trusted advisor across the organization to ensure best overall commercial decisions are made.
University graduate with 10+ years of industry related experience and continued professional development (3+ years customer and/or market-facing industry related experience preferred)
Ability to work with and influence outcomes at all levels across the organization
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Strong intellectual curiosity and persistence to find answers to questions
Strong prioritization, process, and results orientation skills
Ability to develop and articulate value propositions and price strategy
Coachable and open to feedback
Desire to grow and progress within NOVA Chemicals
Knowledge of pricing best practices including: value based pricing, price elasticity, segmentation, competitive, and scenario analysis.
Hands on knowledge of pricing tools such as: Vendavo, PROS, Zillant, or PriceFX
