The Strategic Pricing Analyst position is a hands-on, action oriented role accountable to help build a world-class pricing system that contributes to current and future company performance. The Strategic Pricing Analyst will be responsible for developing and maintaining pricing strategies, challenging pricing to remain competitive in both the traditional and eCommerce markets, researching software and technology to enhance our pricing models and strategy, and collaboratively working with the TMHU Dealer network and other TMHU Departments to create, implement, and validate pricing strategies and tactics that are aligned to support TMHU’s overall strategic operating plan.
Strong ability to define project goals, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid and concise conclusions through analytics of large volumes of data
Proven track record of creating and presenting analytics, reporting, and executive summaries that link detailed information to business need and recommendations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and decision making ability
Demonstrated creative problem solving skills with an emphasis on teamwork
Ability to work well in a fast-paced, results oriented environment including the ability to prioritize tasks and deliver on multiple assignments and meet aggressive timelines
Motivated, focused self-starter with a strong attention to detail, organization, and critical thinking
Proven project management and time management skills
Essential Position Duties:
Develops and maintains pricing strategies to remain competitive in the traditional and online marketplaces
Efficiently and accurately extracts data from business systems to perform analytics that result in concise reports and actionable solutions based on business initiatives
Takes initiative to review available technology and software tools to improve pricing strategy efficiency and results
Collaborates with other team members, Dealers, and Supplier Partners in a professional manner (and in alignment with TMHU’s Core Values) to ensure a comprehensive and effective pricing strategy is developed, maintained, and implemented
Challenges the status quo for continuous improvement suggestions
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
Consistent and strict adherence to all of TMHU’s policies and procedures
Proactively participate in other tasks and duties as requested and required
Creates optimized pricing analysis and actionable recommendations
Maintains current pricing methodologies and researches new technology and software to support TMHU’s pricing strategy
Proactively collaborates with other TMHU Associates, the Dealer Network, and Supplier Partners to provide requested pricing information and follow-up on a timely basis
Reviews and establishes market competitive pricing for a large number of SKU’s and applies needed tools to develop and execute appropriate part number segmentation to foster an effective pricing strategy that meets growth targets
Contributes to the target sales and profitability goals through effective pricing processes, procedures, and research
Applies business and analytical knowledge to create predictive modeling to determine the impact of proposed price changes
Takes initiative in identifying and resolving opportunities related to pricing, margins, and market share and works with the Parts Sales Team to develop an implementation and/or promotion plan
Proactively collaborates with the Procurement Team to identify cost reduction targets to support pricing initiatives
Tracks and evaluates the impact of TMHU’s pricing strategy on revenue, profitability, and overall business performance compared to expectations and develops strategic corrective actions as needed
Assures that the TMHU pricing strategy aligns with TMHU’s overall business plan, as well as, the needs of our customer base
Proactively participates in additional tasks and projects as assigned
Specific Knowledge and Skills:
Proven knowledge and understanding of strategic pricing strategies
Strong initiative, well organized, accurate, and detail oriented
Ability to build relationships and to work collaboratively with a team
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of products and programs
Advanced Excel, database, and modeling experience with the ability and desire to learn other software tools as needed
SAP experience is a plus, not required
Education & Experience:
4 year college degree with a Bachelor of Science Degree in a business and/or a quantitative related field
Documented multi-year experience in a strategic pricing role
At least 2 years of experience in performing data analysis in a business environment
Powered Equipment Distribution industry experience is a plus, not required
